(AUDIT) School Health Screenings

This is the audit version of the School Health Screenings course. 

♦ NOTE: This course does not yet contain specific training in the new vision screening protocols. For an introduction and to learn the rationale about the new vision screenings, you may review the enduring clinical update free or for a fee with nursing credit. This course will help you prepare for how to implement the new protocol.

What are the health screening requirements for MA school-aged children? Learn best practices and what tools school nurses need to conduct BMI, Hearing, Vision, and Postural health screenings.


This course prepares every public and private School Nurse to conduct school health trainings, namely BMI, hearing, postural, and vision, according to MA laws, regulations, and best practice recommendations.

 

Target Audience

  • Any School Nurse seeking to refresh their knowledge of school health screenings in MA schools.

  • Identify the laws and regulations that govern mandated school health screenings
  • Plan and schedule school health screenings
  • Manage school health screenings
  • Document and interpret screening results
  • Complete the referral process, including reporting to MDPH
