From Margret Cooke, MDPH Commissioner:

"This week we observe National Nurses Week which began May 6th and ends on the 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. This is an opportunity to recognize the more than 600 DPH nursing professionals who advise, inform, and assist our hospitals, bureaus, and offices with a wide variety of clinical matters. Our nurses have been vital to the state’s COVID-19 response, and they deserve our recognition and appreciation for the essential roles they play every day. Please visit the DPH Staff Spotlight: Nurses webpage to read about someone we all know and respect for their hard work over the last two years!"
